Great Gray Owl

This male owl (age unknown) was found injured in the Delta Junction area in 2006, most likely the victim of a collision with a car. He was taken to the Sheep Creek Wild Bird Center for treatment of a broken wing. Although he can fly, his flight ability is so limited by his injury that it is highly unlikely he could survive in the wild. He came under my care in the fall of 2007. Because of his large size and the fact that Great Gray Owls are not commonly seen in the wild, he is a crowd favorite wherever he goes.
